My mare did well for two days of competitive trail triding (20 miles the first day, 19 miles the second). We went through water, mud, rocks, pavement and hard-packed dirt roads. The Sole-Guard helped a great deal. It came out easily (we did not blow dry the hoof - maybe that's why) when we returned home. I would recommend it. One tube did four feet (average size hoof -she's never had shoes, so I don't know her shoe size). I think it would last much longer under normal trail coditions. We wet her legs down extensively at the end of each day to help prevent swelling - so that might have caused it to come off more quickly than the 3 week that's advertised. Sole-guard is a highly beneficial product for the well-being of the barefoot horse. I've used it on the last four 25 to 30 mile endurance (limited distance) rides and have come in with healthy horse hooves each time. The thoroughbred I ride is confident and happy with sole-guard. We still slow down to a walk for rocky terrain, but resume trotting and cantering on non-rocky trails.
The substance is generally good for only one 25 mile ride, however,it has lasted for 2 to 3 weeks beyond a ride also. Is this testimonial helpful?
