What is PancreVed used for?
PancreVed is used as a digestive aid in replacement therapy where digestion of protein, carbohydrate and fat is inadequate due to deficient exocrine pancreatic secretions.
For:
Dogs and cats.
Benefits:
Enzyme replacement therapy to improve quality of life for animals with deficient exocrine pancreatic secretions.
Fortified with vitamins A, D and E.
How it works:
PancreVed contains pancreatic enzymes which help to digest fat, protein and sugars. It is mixed with food before each meal.
What you should know:
PancreVed enzymes are derived from whole, raw pancreas of pork origin. Tell your veterinarian if your pet has an allergy to pork. In cases of chronic pancreatitis, replacement therapy may be necessary for the duration of the animal’s life.
How to give this medication:
For dogs, mix 3/4 to 1 teaspoon with each meal. For cats, mix 1/4 to 3/4 teaspoon with each meal. Mix well with moistened food (canned or dry) and let stand at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before feeding. Frequent feeding, at least 3 times a day, is important. Give this medication exactly as directed by your veterinarian. If you do not understand the directions, ask the veterinarian or pharmacist to explain them to you.
If you miss a dose:
If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember during the same day. However, if you don’t remember until the next day, skip the dose you missed and give the next one as directed. Do not double dose.
PancreVed should not be used in:
Do not use PancreVed in pets that are allergic to pork.
Possible side effects:
Some patients may exhibit reactions, including allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; swelling of the lips, tongue or face; hives), diarrhea or loose stool. If you observe any of these side effects, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.

My cat just began this supplement about 6 weeks ago and it has saved her life. Before being diagnosed with EPI, she had lost 60% of her body weight and was down to 4.9 lbs. She was originally diagnosed with Diabetes, started insulin treatments and began to gain weight but quickly lost it all. After more blood tests, my vet discovered she had EPI and immediately placed her on this supplement. She is a very picky cat when it comes to the taste of her food and I was very concerned she would notice the taste of this powder. She ate it all with no problem and never seemed to notice it was in there! I am happy to report that in just the 6 short weeks she has been taking this, she is now 7.1 lbs and the vet is pleased with the results. I recommend this to any pet parent whose loved pet, whether it be a dog or cat, has been diagnosed with EPI. It will change your life around and save theirs! Is this testimonial helpful?
