I had a 2 year old mare I was going to transport to new owner. She had never been in the trailer. I gave her 1 tube of B Kalm 3 hours prior to loading. We had her loaded within 5 minutes and she settled down and made the 80 mile trip like she had been hauled many times. When I opened the trailer door to let her out she just stepped out like she had done it many times before and and there was a definite step down for her. She only broke a little bit of a sweat on her neck otherwise she was fine. I attribute this calmness to B-Kalm. She had never been off the farm before. I highly recommend it. My very laid back mare only gets stressed when separated from her pasture buddy when traveling, which results in her kicking the heck out of the trailer. I gave her the tube of B-kalm about 2 hrs before departure for a camping trip. Have a paper towel handy. The paste is pink and somewhat liquid. I was so happy to NOT hear her pounding the trailer, even when stopping for 10 min. to wait on freinds. I'm thrilled that it is a natural amino acid that actually does what is says!! I may even take a dab myself sometime. :) Is this testimonial helpful?

Seemed to work quite well for trailering friend's nervous (former rescue) horse on a long trip solo through LA traffic. We used half a tube initially, then re-dosed with the rest at half way through the trip. We felt we could tell when it was "working" and when it was "wearing off" by his expression as we checked on him through the trip. We all agreed that he acted slightly "stoned" (relaxed, but not distressed or wobbly) when it was working, while he seemed a bit more worried & concerned when it was wearing off. I'd definately recommend it for trailering an anxious horse, but I don't know if I would necessarily want to go over 3'jumps on a horse with this stuff. That said, IMHO in a stressful situation a horse who is humming "everything is gonna be all right" to himself is probably a whole lot safer to be around than one who is mumbling "Lions, and tigers, and bears - OH MY" the whole time! I have a horse that's perfect most of the time, but when it's time to perform he can loose focus. I was really frustrated and thought about selling him. At the next show, my trainer suggested B-Kalm and I was very pleased with the results. My horse was able to focus and remained alert and happy the whole show. He performed his best, winning his classes! I will use this as part of my regular show prep routine from now on. Is this testimonial helpful?

My 26 year old retired hunter/jumper gets nervous in crowds of horses. In an arena he's stone cold perfect. But put him out in a bunch of strange tacked-up horses and he starts shaking. I've tried several calmatives and this works very well with him. Of course, your mileage may vary.
