At age 2, my mare had a 1 degree rotation. Fortunately, this was not too severe, however, it did cause lameness. Along with corrective shoeing, my vet recommended Grand Hoof. It is the only product on the market that has the appropriate amounts of 3 essential minerals needed for hoof growth: Biotin, Zinc, and Methianine. I have used Grand Hoof (powder & pellets) for over 12 years and I swear by this stuff. My mare would not have recovered as quickly without it. The hoof walls are thicker and overall hoof health is excellent. This is a great product for horses that do not have the best hoof (genetically) and for injuries where the hoof needs rapid growth. Personally, I use the pellets. I find less waste. Some horses don't go for powders and will eat pellets. Watch your horses' habits and go from there. Is this testimonial helpful?

I have used this product for TEN YEARS and would not ever use another product! This stuff is GREAT! I suggest using the powder instead of the pellets because you get more for your money, it mixes well, and easily digested. My 7 horses look Excellent. Our farrier can not get over how great our horses feet and overall condition is. We do not shoe our horses. We don't have too. Tender feet are not tender any more. Brittle feet are not brittle any more. The few times we have put shoes on them, their hooves hold the nails better and do not break off. Less trips to the farrier, especially for repairs. There isn't enough Good I can say about this product. I'm just a horse owner. Don't work for the company or have a stake in it at all. Go to www.GrandMeadows.com and read about what goes into their products if you want a better breakdown. The ONLY drawback I have about this stuff is their price. But hey, you get what you pay for. Our horses stay out in the pasture and shine like barn kept beauties from head to toe. Health starts from the inside out and I put this on the inside...which also takes care of the outside.
