I have a white arab who would discharge a liquid when he pooped. We ruled out sand colic and worms. Vet determine he was not absorbing all the water in his large intestine. I had him on Sand Clear, Equus Psyllium Fiber Blend and Assure Plus. The symptoms went away after the Assure plus which has a probiotic in it. Used Sand Clear after Assure and symptoms came back. Put him back on Equus Psyllium Fiber Blend and he cleared up. Since Assure Plus is $200 a bucket for 50 doses, Equus is a affordable maintenance psyllium. Might consider doing a 1 week dosing of the Assure if the symptoms come back once a quarter. Is this testimonial helpful?

I live in AZ and sand colic is a major concern. I couldn't find any pysllium that my two yearlings would eat without tons of work to hide it. Someone recommended the Equus Psyllium to me and I gave it a try. My horses LOVE this stuff as far as they are concerned it is a yummy treat! Very satisfied customer :) Is this testimonial helpful?

My horses are in a corral on sandstone - they prefer licking and eating it to their salt licks. They have been on Equus psyllium every day for at least 5 years and I have not had one case of sand colic at my barn. (I did send a mare out for training and failed to send a week's supply of psyllium and she did colic.) The supplement is very palatable and I've never had a problem with them eating it - even my 29 year old mare that won't touch most supplements. I would highly recommend this item. Having not used a psyllium product before (but seeing a need for one now), I selected Equus Psyllium Fiber Blend because it had the desired ingredients AND because the user reviews indicated palatability more universally than reviews of other brands I considered. We just started using it so I can't speak about its effectiveness yet, but I can confirm that it's really easy to administer - mostly because our horses really love it. We simply put the two (small) scoops in a bucket all by itself, and even our fussy eater gobbles up every last bit (and she's suspicious of fresh apple and has to be persuaded to eat a carrot)! The horses see it as a terrific treat so it's definitely a winner for ease and palatability. Is this testimonial helpful?

In the past I had tried powder forms but my horses would just sort thru it and not eat it. I bought a 7yo Appy that eats everything/anything on the ground, even when the hay is gone. One day, he was showing signs of Colic and had tried to lay down with me on him several times on a short ride/he also had diarrhea. I rushed him to the vet who said he had mild sand colic and was treated with mineral oil and psyllium. It was then recommended I start him on this product for 14days then monthly. The sand in his "piles" is very evident which proves it is working and excavating the sand from his intestines...Plus my other 2 eat it because it is pelleted and they like it. It really works! I've tried and tried all the other "apple/molasses" flavored one's and my horse won't eat them. He will eat this stuff plain. I do give up the dosage though
(big horse, sandy area) It's a great product, I like their hoof oil too:) Is this testimonial helpful?

I am very glad to see that you all carry this product. I can not find it in any of our feed stores in my area. This is an easy to feed pelleted product and cost allot less then others. I feel it works very well. I highly recommend this product. Is this testimonial helpful?

This pelleted product is very easy to feed and very palatable to our horses. It smells like licorice. They just gobble it up. Masking it in their feed is not necessary. You don't have to feed large quantities of it each feeding either. I really recommend this product for people that feed fiber and their horses won't eat a powdered product.
