As a professional in the equine alternative health field I've had the opportunity to work on two different horses sedated with Dormosedan Gel with excellent results.
The first was a very cranky mare whose back and hip pain made her impossible to chiropractically adjust. She wouldn't let anyone touch her hindquarters without attempting to kick with serious intent to harm. This method of sedation worked beautifully. Her owner administered the gel and in twenty minutes she was allowing her hindlegs to be handled and in 40 minutes she was amiable and willing to be manipulated. The best part for me was that though she was very sleepy and relaxed, she still maintained good balance and resistence when needed.
The second mare had not had her feet trimmed in over two years. She was so sore with her long and badly cracked feet that she couldn't hold any one foot up long enough to trim. Thirty minutes after administering the gel the mare allowed her front feet to be trimmed and by time they were finished she no longer cared whether I picked up a hind foot or not. Prior to sedation she attempted to kick when I thought about touching her hind leg. Again, this horse was able to stay balanced while I trimmed each foot and at no time did I feel like she might fall or overweight me. It was a positive experience for her that I hope will be reflected the next time she needs trimming.
Both horses recovered from sedation without any noticeable side effects. What a wonderful product to have available to help ease of care for difficult situations. Is this testimonial helpful?
