Hydroxyxine Pamoate is an antihistamine that may be used to relieve itching that is caused by allergies, flea bite dermatitis, and atopy. It may also be prescribed for its sedative qualities.

How it works:

How to give this medication:

This medication should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. If you have difficulty giving the medication, contact your veterinarian.
If you miss a dose:
Give the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and give the regular dose as directed. Do not double dose.
Hydroxyxine Pamoate should not be used in:
This medication should not be used in animals that are allergic to it. Do not administer Hydroxyxine Pamoate to pregnant or lactating animals, or to animals with prior prostate and bladder conditions, severe cardiac failure, or glaucoma.
Possible side effects:
Side effects may include drowsiness and lethargy. If you observe any of these side effects, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.
