I had been given a saddle, but didn't have a saddle pad for it. I ride lots of different horses, and I wanted a conforming pad so that if the saddle didn't fit absolutely perfect, the horse would still be comfy. I ended up not keeping the saddle, but I still use this pad every day. Its fantastic! I got the royal blue/ turquoise. It is vibrant and looks amazing on all the horses. It absorbs sweat REALLY well, Even when the horses are dripping everywhere else, their back is totally dry. I haven't tried cleaning the underside yet, but one horse threw it into the shavings, and the top was easy to brush off. It also hasn't slipped ever.
The only things I don't like is I wish it was contoured. It is also extremely stiff along the top, so when I put it on the horse, it doesn't conform until I sit down. It makes the saddle look like it doesn't fit. This is annoying, but its ok once I cinch up. You may want to cinch a little tighter to begin with, because it WILL ride down a smidge. Its also a very heavy pad. While this doesn't bug the horses, its a pain to carry around, and since I barrel race, I wouldn't mind less weight.
