Great pad A friend of mine recommended this pad while we were trying to fit a saddle to my extremely high withered skinny TB Gelding. The wither cut out and spine channel were just what I needed to fit the horse comfortably. Same friend uses this pad on her stocky quarter horse and won't use any other. Don't think I will either!

This is a very high quality pad. Well constructed, stitching is consistent and appears strong. The gel portion is well protected and really does displace force over a more broad area. We bought this pad because our QH mare was getting saddle sores from a combination of a poor fitting saddle and a cheap pad. This pad stopped the progression of the sores and our mare was obviously more comfortable under the saddle. The ride quality improved, which I attribute to her comfort. Is this testimonial helpful?

I read about Impact Gel for a long time before finally deciding to make a purchase. Several trail buddies have used these for years but I thought just any high quality felt pad was just as good. I was wrong. This pad delivers exceptional quality with its two-piece, hand sewn construction, and rigging cut-outs. The pad is uniquely constructed to contour along the horse's spine (Impact gel bladder), delivering exceptional fit and reducing slipping and saddle roll. The 3/4" compressed wool felt has the ability to draw sweat from the horse, transferring heat and dissipating the moisture.
Very well made and should last a very long time. The leather wears along the spine and sides help keep the pad in tip top shape.
Best fitting pad I have ever tried and I have owned it now about three months and several 4-5 hours rides later. And if you want something a little more flash, I highly recommend the Woven Impact Gel pad as well, although I'm not sure it is sold on this site. Is this testimonial helpful?

I first purchased the contour pad for my very green gelding. My trainer was having trouble with him wanting to buck at a trot. When we switched to this pad it was a vast improvement. The saddle fits better and you do not have to have the cinch as tight. I have since purchased another one for my Arab gelding and would recommend to others that care about the comfort of their horses. Is this testimonial helpful?

I ride a lot of different horses during a year, with a lot of different withers and backs. This pad has made my saddle fit so much better on some of the horses that it previously just marginally fit or you had to have your girth so tight to keep your saddle in place, that it was uncomfortable for the horse. I am getting ready to order another one. Is this testimonial helpful?

I just received my gel pad looks nice quality looks good.
I bought this pad because my saddle was tipping forward and pinching my mares withers to the point that she didn't want to be saddled anymore.(can't blame her so I've been riding her bareback) Tried it today,the saddle sat much better on her back, up off her withers and level. Once I sat in the saddle I noticed a difference in my seat position, I didn't feel like I was leaning forward all the time and fighting to lean back to stay in position. And my mare well she wasn't tossing her head up the way she was before and seemed to be moving much better.
I don't know why I waited so long before trying this pad.
I think we're both going to be much happier on our rides.
I will certainly recommend this product to my riding companions. The only negative thing about it is the weight of the pad it's a bit heavy. But it's worth it if it relieves the pain of an poor fitting saddle other than that it's a GREAT PAD. Is this testimonial helpful?
