I purchased this exact brand of alpaca cinch from our local tack dealer (of course the price was higher). I love it and am ordering another one for our other horse. I had a problem with girth area tenderness with my horse after races (I do limited distance endurance and was using a neoprene cinch). I have noticed that galling is a fairly frequent problem with endurance horses. Someone suggested a 'mohair' cinch, but, the alpaca was the only one available in her size at the store. I have been so happy with it!!! No tenderness even after 25 miles, and we recently completed back to back 25 miles without any galling or tenderness. Be wary though that the natural stretch of the alpaca fiber does cause the girth to increase in length almost 2 inches with sweating and use, so order a slightly shorter length than needed. And be prepared to tighten it a couple times the first or second use due to this stretching.
Couldn't be happier and would highly recommend this cinch. I give it a '10' for horse comfort. Plus my horse is a bay, so it perfectly matches her coloration.
