It tingles, but doesn't burn, as some can do. As far as most liniments go, this one is actually rather mild, and perfect for a thin skinned or sensitive animal. I love using it as a brace, putting a couple ounces in a bucket of water and sponging it over the horse. Cuts through sweat nicely, doesn't strip the coat, and smells GREAT. I'll use it full strength on the legs of horses that seem prone to stocking up, or just as a precaution after a hard work out.
