WILKEN (SALEM, NM) Nov 9, 2012 This bit is the perfect transition bit from a smooth snaffle. I have a colt that is really soft. I rode him with a smooth snaffle for a couple months but he would get a little heavy in it. I went to a chain bit but that was too much for him. I saw this bit and decided to try it. He worked good with it from the start. It lighten him up and has kept him soft. He doesn't fight it either. I would say if you were looking for a good transition bit from a smooth snaffle this would be a good bit for that, it gives you a little more control.
