Excellent Results From Quietex
Posted By: Murphy (DEL VALLE, TX) Jan 16, 2012

ET is a 16 hand TW that can not deal with the field trial scene. He came home from the trainer at lease 300 lbs under weight due to constant fretting. Two weeks ago I attempted to tie him out away from his buddies and he nearly lost his mind, wouldn't eat and was losing weight before my eyes. This past weekend I tried the paste, leaving him home is not an option, and he was a completely different horse. I have just ordered some Qietex powder.

Only thing to watch out for
Posted By: relief (SEABECK, WA) Aug 28, 2007

I've used this product in powder form mainly for all of my horses and it's great, even with a now snarly pregnant mare. I game on an arab and at one game show decided I didn't need the ride of my life warming up (she had only gamed in that arena & only wanted to go fast), so I gave her some of the powder. As we entered the arena to warm up she was at a PERFORMANCE walk, jog, lope. I had some riders come up to me and ask if I hit her over the head - they couldn't believe she could go that slow. The only problem I have with the product is if a fast spin is required in one of the first events (like keyhole, keyrace, Texas rollback) she seems to loose a bit of equilibrium and will over spin. Even at that when it happened she was able to listen and get corrected and launched out of the keyhole. I was almost out of the saddle from the spin one way and then back again, lost a stirrup, was MAYBE 2 inches from the line of disqualification, but my mare listened & let me get resituated before launching. Others at the start line didn't even realize what had happened - it was that quick. I'm glad that it's safe during pregnancy since our POA has "bratitude" now and gives her young rider a tougher time than usual.

Mare becomes gelding
Posted By: A. COUCH (LEVELLAND, TX) Jun 5, 2007

After my filly was injuried and had to be clipped to be sewn she hated the clippers. She would throw her shoulder into you and smash you against the nearest fence. Her temper is just about the same in any situation she gets upset in, push and shove. On a whim I started her on Quietex powder to keep her calm at rodeos and shows, but surprisingly enough she stood and let me clip her head as if it never bothered her. I LOVE THIS STUFF! She is a completely different mare, almost like a gelding:)

Awesome Product
Posted By: izzybbar (Belgrade, MT) Nov 14, 2006

I was moving my 10 year old stallion from MN to MT. He had never been off the property, let alone loaded into a trailer. I started using this product 1 week before the shipper arrived. I noticed an immediate difference in this already laid back stud. Nothing bothered him, even when his last "lady friend" departed home. When the trailer came, it was a 3 horse slant. He walked up to the trailer, put his front feet in, backed out (oh no thought I), then jumped into the trailer. He rode fine all the way out there. Then, I had to move him again. He was off the product but was okay in his new surroundings. When we brought him out to the trailer (a two horse) we tried for 2 hours to load him and he ended up trembling so bad he could hardly stand. Tried again the next day and he was just a basket case. Started feeding the product again, and in 3 days, another 3 horse slant arrived and he practically ran over me to get in. This stuff in awesome. He is being moved again (I know, too much) and I am going to start him on the product again about a week before we move. Then I am going to continue using this "excellent" product as the place he is going will have a lot of commotion that he is not used to, plus goats and cattle (of which he has never ever seen). I don't want him to blow a gasket when all this comes at him. Once again--I highly recommend this product. Connie

I have Just used the paste in my two Appaloosa geldings, one is a Parade Veteran, but gets kind of Goofy and the other is a 1st Timer .I gave them both a tube aprox 2 hours before loading and what a difference it made in the ease of this stressful situation. They were both well under control and still very alert to what was being asked of them. The Parade was a nice experience instead of wondering what to expect next. I will continue to use this product for all of our parades in the future.

Quitex powder
Posted By: Dakota's Mom (ELKRIDGE, MD) Jun 14, 2006

I started using the daily powder last Wednesday and I went on a trail ride Saturday. This stuff worked GREAT ! Usually on trail rides, my horse jumps at every movement. Sometimes big jumps, but mostly little jumps. The kind that just keeps you on edge. Well, this Saturday he never jumped once. A bicyclist came up on us and he took it in stride. He saw a deer about 50 feet away and just kept on walking. Crossed water, jumped logs, everything. I couldn't believe it. He wasn't sluggish and didn't seem drugged at all. He responded to my commands to go and stop etc... It was as if he just wasn't worried. I can only ride on the weekends and I have owned him for a year. That was the best ride I've ever had with him. I might stop the powder and try the paste, just to compare, but then, why tempt fate? I don't know about horses that are really strong Spookers, but I would certainly try it.
