CLUFF (Milford, UT) Mar 30, 2011 We use these for castrating our dexter calves and it works great, but the best use we have for them is to remove their horns! Just shave the hair around the base of the horn. Place the band on the skin below the base of the horn and the horn falls off 30-90 days later; no blood, no open wounds, no pain, no more horn. Don't forget to give each animal a tetanus shot before using this method to remove horns.

Even tempted to use on light calves because they seem to work better. For now, we use this product on heavy calves.
