I have tried everything, and this works the best for me.
Posted By: Penryn (Penryn, CA) Sep 25, 2009

I am using this product on a mare with severe leg injury who has only 4 mm of sole. The vets are trying to avoid nailing a shoe on her, so we are using another product on her sole and then fit her into Hoof Wraps when we turn her out. She loves her Wraps and steps out comfortably once they are on. Product is durable; and I appreciate having to use some elbow grease to get them off because I know they are on securely, and the little tabs that come in the package allow for extra security. Although the numbering system works great, I find it easier to adjust the velcro on the toe first, slip the Wrap on, and then reposition the velcro for a custom fit. Does the Wrap become wet from overnight dew, just slip a plastic bag on the foot first secured at the top with vetwrap, slip the Wrap on, and you are ready to go. Hoof Wraps are working to save my mare in allowing us to avoid shoes while we work to grow sole. Other harder boots make her sore, spin on her foot, etc. they just don't work for us. I am SOLD on Hoof Wraps Products.

Suitably impressed
Posted By: L. BLAIS (NEW SMYRNA, FL) Mar 29, 2009

I am very pleased with the performance of the Quick Fix Hoof Wrap. I put one with a gel pad on our 13.1 hh pony mule and then turned her back out with the other animals. Though the Hoof Wrap was a bit large for her, the wrapping system was adjustable enough to accommodate even a pony-sized (#00) hoof. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the mule was on 24/7 turn-out in a sandy lot for six days. The Hoof Wrap stayed snug and showed little or no sign of wear. Well worth the price; I plan to purchase at least one more but there's no rush since this one shows signs of lasting quite a while longer.

Greatest thing EVER!!
Posted By: Marie (St Augustine, FL) Oct 14, 2008

I have a thin soled mare who is prone to stone bruises. I have spent countless hours taping and wrapping. These wraps are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Literally they take seconds to apply, and stay on even during turn-out. They allow the hoof to breathe so you don't have to worry about sloughing hoofs. They don't soak up water like diapers/duct tape and you just hose them off to clean them or they are also machine washable. I used the same set for 2 weeks, and they showed no wear through the toe or bottom. I have ordered a second set to keep as spares, and also ordered a few extra sets of pads. The company is coming out with gel pad inserts for these wraps which I hope Valley Vet will carry. I highly recommend this product!

Hoof Wraps
Posted By: jlbrooks (ROSHARON, TX) Apr 26, 2008

I purchased 2 hoof wraps for my daughter's barrel horse. This horse is a heavy-footed hard turning horse who has had numerous problems. The latest are his front feet...the result of bad shoeing leading to misalignment of his front end. We changed farriers & followed the vet's recommendation for corrective shoeing. The farrier told me that he would need to remain stalled through 3 shoeings (18 weeks). He remained in the first 6 weeks, but I did not like leaving an otherwise healthy horse stalled if there was another way. I searched the internet for a solution and came upon hoof wraps. Hoof wraps are the ticket! They have worked wonderful for him. He is able to get out of his stall and graze with the rest of the herd and I don't have as much cleaning. I turn him out during the day and leave him stalled at night. The hoof wraps have proved to be very sturdy and simple to use. The wraps stay on great and clean up easily. After a couple of weeks of daily wearing, one is a bit tattered underneath, but still has not exposed the foot to the earth. I simply wrapped the foot in VetWrap & taped the bottom. Then I placed the hoof wrap on his foot. It's worked fine. I am very pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

Easy and Tough
Posted By: Hay Bartender (DILLSBORO, IN) Apr 15, 2008

This item was discribed as disposible but lasted about 2 weeks in a stall with limited time outside for the treatment of an absess. Very easy to put on a young, unhappy horse and protected the bandage and wrap. Much easier than a hard, rubber type boot that never seemed to be the right size for the horse that needed it. I'm buying two more to have on hand.

Love it!!
Posted By: PTM (Greensboro, NC) Mar 17, 2008

All I know is I was tired of wasting my time with tape so I tried it... and I LOVE it! I've used it on several different terrains and it has performed each time! I used one on three seperate occasions before I had to replace it! It showed wear but kept doing the job... more importantly, made MY job easier! I purchased a second one for my pack and it SAVED a ride we had planned! One of our friends horse stepped on a nail and we were about 5 miles out. I pulled out the Hoof Wrap and we made it home safe and sound! Needless to say, everyone we were with wanted to know were they could get one! Trust me... GET TWO!

Nice wrap, not long lived
Posted By: dressagegirl (EL CAJON, CA) Oct 29, 2007

This is a nice temp hoof wrap that I used on my horse to protect cotton packing. I keep her stalled with a small outside run. The wrap worked great, but only lasted about a week. The bottom wore a hole through. Maybe if I just had her inside on stall mats it would have lasted longer. It did stay on her hoof very well and did not come off until I took it off th change the packing. The price is nice too.
