Succeed is a Success
Posted By: TWHRider (Wartrace, TN) Sep 17, 2012

There are some things life you only get what you pay for; I highly recommend Succeed for serious ulcer issues. My 25 yr old TWH has Equine Metabolic Syndrome, diagnosed with hind gut ulcers and most likely lipomas in the GI tract. Now retired with his primary duties being Herd Management, he has always been a trail horse, often traveling in places where there weren't any trails. He has been on Succeed (paste form)for the recommended 60 days and will be transitioned to the granules. Once on the Succeed, he started to shed his old coat almost immediately, his winter coat is coming in beautifully and in it's normal color, his barrel is no longer distended, and he's back to acting like a 10 yr old Alpha-dominant, with the swagger to match. Succeed is one of those "too good to be true" things that really does work, when combined with providing the horse proper diet and other good management practices.

Very pricey but well worth it
Posted By: babychops (VALLEY CENTER, CA) Apr 7, 2011

It has changed my OTTB's coat from coarse and dry, faded out brown to slick as glass black (with Spring in full swing). Hind gut health is SO important in avoiding colic and the general wellbeing of your horse. Hooves and haircoat will show a noticeable difference. This in my humble opinion is the best stuff on the market. A 3.5lb pail will last you 2 months. It's very expensive but it makes such a huge difference in your horse's attitude (happy tummy), health and appearance. Try it just once and you'll be sold.

Music lives due to Succeed
Posted By: J. HEINRICH (WHITE LAKE, MI) Nov 4, 2009

My 1400# draft-cross racking horse, Music, was chronically colicking every couple of months and had even ungone surgery for a twist three years ago. He is very well cared for and everything he is fed is soaked (Senior, 50/50 haycubes, grassy 1st cutting hay). He is such a good horse and makes me laugh every day, and I was in a constant state of anxiety over when he would go down next. The last episode was different from the previous ones - he had gut sounds, passed manure, but was in markedly greater pain and I thought he had ruptured something and was dying. My vet diagnosed hind-gut ulcers and I started him on Succeed and Sucralfate immediately. Within the first week, he became a completely different horse, healthy and comfortable and happy, and NOT COLICKING! After consulting with a product rep and being assured that it would not hurt him, I have kept him on a double dose due to his size. I credit this product for being instrumental in Music's being alive and active today.

Helped my 21-y/o chronic colicer!
Posted By: Equus3481 (O FALLON, IL) Jul 9, 2009

Last year, my 21 year old 1/2 Arabian gelding became a sort-of chronic impaction colicer, with two trips to the equine hospital in 4 months, and countless episodes of just not feeling well over the summer. I tried everything I could think of... probiotics, electrolyes, sand colic remedy to keep the gut working, and even keeping him in the cool barn during the afternoon heat. His Dr has also taken him off hay for good, and he eats only Senior, bran mashes, and grass. Nothing seemed to work completly, and I always felt he was on the verge of another colic... and I was right! After his 3rd impaction colic in 8 months, I was at my wits end... was this going to be our new normal? I decided to try Succeed, to help condition his gut and heal any ulcers he may have. Just one scoop a day, and my horse hasnt coliced or even been off his feed in almost a year! Succeed is a small price to pay for a happy and healthy horse! THANK YOU!!!!

Works Wonders
Posted By: K. CUMMINGS (RIVERSIDE, CA) Apr 11, 2006

I have been giving my miniature horse the Succeed granules for a year now ever since he was hospitalized for a intestinal blockage with ulcers. We had been struggling with our mini eating his shavings for over 2 years and had exhausted the market trying different types of shavings hoping to find one he didn't eat. He would bloat terribly and had to be muzzled as he is a show horse and needs to look his best. This finally ended with the mini being rushed to emergency in the middle of the night and an expensive weeks stay to clear out the blockage. Just about the time I brought him home and got him back on his normal feed my trainer ran into a Succeed salesman who gave her info on this great product. We started with the paste but switched to granules after a couple of months. I am happy to say that this mini no longer eats shavings, is no longer bloated, and has not been sick since. Having changed nothing else but adding the Succeed granules I attribute this change totally to Succeed.
