apparently the most comfortable
Posted By: siskyou mt. rider (WILLIAMS, OR) Jan 28, 2011
Because my mare is quite large and I'm a smallest woman I couldn't find a western, trail, style, saddle that fit both of us. Recently, I had a custom saddle made. The tree is actually carved to fit her shape and mine too. The saddlemaker told me to use the thinest pad with it. I have about a dozen various pads that made her switchy tailed or actually buck up until I tried the first pad I ever bought for her four years ago the Navajo Impact Gel pad! No problem at all. Apparently very comfortable up and down hills. Yes, the pad's a bit heavy and big, but she's a big muscle horse. Now I'll purchase a second one so that I can wash the fleece on the first one and allow for drying time.
I think the Navajo designs are pretty.

Good Quality Pad
Posted By: CheifsTaxi (CLEVELAND, TX) May 5, 2010
Just got my new impact gel pad in the mail today, first thing i noticed was the high quality. Wear leathers are made from a supple leather, durable and a pretty shade of brown. Wool has minimal shedding and true to color shown on website. The only negative thing i can find is this pad is very heavy. Might not be so good on a smaller horse or a horse with a short back, it is pretty long. But no problem on my big mare. Looked great with my tan and black zebra headstall and breastcollar.
