The attractant is "smelly" so I place my jugs a little away from our outdoor patio and entertaining area. As the jug fills up with flies, just add more water. Save the original caps from the milk jugs and when the jug is full of flies, reseal with the cap and toss it all! I had such success last year than I am using the milk jugg flytrap system again this year.
