Consumers should be aware that not all biotin listings are alike.
A blend of biotin that makes it easier to mix during
manufacturing can contain only 2% of actual raw biotin. Products
may use either that 2% blend or 100% pure biotin as a source, but
may not make the distinction on their labels. Therefore, you should
call to check if the amount of biotin on the label seems abnormally
high. CheckMate’s
label lists 100 mgs of biotin, but it’s really 100 mgs of a
2% biotin blend, so that works out to be only 2 mg of
actual biotin. Some other products list the actual biotin content
on the label, regardless of whether their source is the 2% biotin
blend or 100% biotin raw material, with amount ranging from 3 to
33 mgs.
