      Bought this fence charger to put around several acres for keeping my pigs in. It has a really strong shock (I should know, it hurt). Did have problem with pigs not getting a good shock every time, but finally figured out that it was NOT the charger, but that the ground was so dry, it simply was unable to make the circuit connection. BUT, getting some rain took care of that problem. The one thing that I do NOT like about this charger, is that it states very clearly on the charger, that is is NOT to be mounted outside. Well........ in my situation, I HAD to mount it outside, so I took some steps to protect it. Come on manufacturer, is it so hard to design a seal around the thing to keep the rain out of the box??? I believe it would be a much better product (even if you had to charge a few dollars more for it) if it was designed to be mounted inside OR outside.

      This is our second Power Wizard fencer. Our first is a DC model, we ran it off of a deep cell battery for about 5 years. It is still going strong, but our deep cell batteries do not tolerate winter well. Since we now have electricity at the barn, we decided it was time to tap into the more consistent power source. We've had it about a month, working great with no issues, even in this deep snow. No more animals 'taking walks' to my front door for dinner!
