Standard Freeze Brand. Single letter or number in standard block lettering design. Character is 2-1/2” in height with 5/16" face width and 18" steel handle. Freeze brands are cast of copper alloy (brass) which is generally preferred for its temperature holding capacity. These freeze branding irons are ample in weight and have the temperature holding capacity to help you brand more livestock in less time and still aid you in producing a better brand.

Freeze branding is a technique in which a super cold branding iron, properly applied to the animal’s hide, kills the color pigment producing cells. The result is that white or colorless hair, instead of colored hair, grows at the brand site. Freeze branding is effective on cattle, horses, and dogs. One advantage of freeze branding is that it produces a readable brand at any time of the year.
