This rugged nylon bandage was designed to allow horses to be turned out to pasture during hoof treatment. Makes treating hoof problems like abscesses and stone bruises easier, or can provide temporary protection after shoe loss. The wrap-around design provides a custom fit that is double reinforced under foot. Tough hook-and-loop closures keep the wrap on, yet allow it to be removed, cleaned and reapplied. One size fits most horses. EVA foam hoof pad included.

      I did not want to buy an expensive boot for short term use, for a big bad abcess and beginning laminitis; so I bought a Hoof Wrap. It was excellent for that purpose. At first I put it on upside down and thought it was junk; but when I realized my mistake, it wrapped and held after I got the straps tight enough in the right position. (The directions are perfectly clear.) My mare could then put weight on that foot and walk in her large corral, which helped the abcess to travel out. I have used the boot twice now for about six days each time. The wrap is still perfectly useable and washable. I wish I had also bought the company's soaker boot because it was hard to keep her foot in a bucket of magnesium salts and warm water without staying with her the whole time.

      I bought 2 of these boots to use on my horse while his foot healed from a shoeing related issue. I used the boot over a poultice and a duct tape bandage. He was turned out for around 6 hrs/day in a 12 acre field with a group of geldings. He is quite active in turnout, and we had very muddy conditions during this time. I was very pleased with the way the boots performed. He only managed to get a boot off once (it was still intact). I alternated boots each day, hosing the mud off one and using the other. The pair of boots lasted 2 weeks, long enough for his foot to heal and get his shoe back on. They were throw aways after 2 weeks, but they were relatively inexpensive and allowed my horse to be turned out. I was very pleased! I bought 2 more boots to keep on hand for the future.

      I have three now, two of which I have used many times over the last six years or so.... One of those I actually stitched a place or two where it tore, its grabbers lost their hold so I also use duct tape. It was my backup. The second one needs patching yet its grabbers are still way strong. I usually tape the final tabs just to discourage the horses from pulling on them. I have not used the one I just bought - hopefully I won't have to. They wash easily, I do find it tricky to have the horse's foot centered on the pad, but that is the horse not the boot. I am envious of the people in the videos whose horses never move, and they always put their foot exactly where the human asks.... (o:

      I was really excited about this wrap as I am dealing with long term aftercare of a canker which is going to require weeks of wrapping. I really do like the clever design but it doesn't even come close to fitting my horse. He does have quite large feet. If your horse has average or small feet go for it, if not, save your money.

      My horse had surgery on his hoof and I needed something to protect the duct tape so he could go out into a small turnout. The bandage is better than the tape alone but it only lasts about 5 days (wears through on the toe). It is really easy to put on and has stayed on well. If they could only make it more durable it would be perfect.

      Not as durable as I would like for it to be, but easier to use than duct tape. This is my 2nd one to buy and I will buy a 3rd if needed.

      This is the second time I've ordered these hoof wraps. They helped save a valued horse. It was a miracle cure. I have x-rays to prove it. They are a wonderful product and valleyvet.com was great to do business with both times. Fast and efficient.

      this has been very handy in keeping hoof bandaging secure and allowing my horses to be pastured without the hassle of having to find awkward boots to fit them or tape them up every day/few days. the drawbacks are: that it can be a bit complicated to put on, that it only comes in one size (though it fits all but the very smallest and largest feet) and it can rub a bit if your under bandage slips below it during the day. otherwise, i've found this to be solid. my horses are ROUGH on stuff, even when sore with an abscess. they go out in a small herd on 20 acres of pasture with a stone dust catch pen area for up to 16hrs a day, and this stayed in place 24-48 hrs between treatments, with little wear and tear. i used it without a pad--just the bandage beneath--and it was fine. i'm ordering more!

      Purchased for a horse with a badly split rear hoof. He's on turn-out, so the wrap is getting a good endurance test in both dry and muddy conditions. I would definitely recommend getting at least two wraps and an extra couple packs of the pad inserts if you plan to use the wrap long-term. Easy to put on, and the wraps stay on well for the most part, but he's lost one in the pasture at least once, and the pads compress down enough that you'll want to change them out if you're using the wraps as long-term protection while an injury heals. We re-wrap the injury with vet-wrap/co-flex twice a day and then the wrap goes over the top. After two weeks of use, I've reinforced one wrap with duct tape at the toe. The other needed some re-stitching after a week of use, but on the whole I've been really happy with how well they've stood up to wear. And I will definitely be adding one to my trail riding kit for emergencies.

      I purchased 2 of these for 2 different horses, one stall bound and the other in a small pasture. Both horses lost both wraps in their surroundings by morning. Both wraps were found still wrapped which leads me to believe they just stepped right out of them. I am SO disappointed as I thought these would put an end to all the bending and tape wrapping, not to mention the cost of the tape that is only used once.

      I'm sure this is a product that an experienced horse person would love. But we are NOT and the horse is a rescue horse with not the best manners. Product too complicated to put on. Has not worked at all for us.

      I bought this last month, packed my horse's hoof and put this on. The wrap is very easy to put on. It stays on in a stall, but out in a field it needs something else to hold it on as the velcro straps just aren't strong enough to hold it together. It came off of my horse's hoof three or four times in the field. I think I'm going to spend a little extra money next time and go with a regular boot.

      For the price, a very good product for covering a bandage for abscess treatment. I did find to necessary to reinforce the velcro straps with duct tape before turnout.

      I was having to use something for my gelding's hoof to keep it clean and dry during doctoring.  I had used other products but they either turned, held in moisture or created other issues.  The durability is great, the velcro super strong and I was able to use it different ways.  "IF" it wears out, I will definitely purchase another, and at least have it on hand.

      We got this to help with laminitis issues. It made packing the hoof and changing it every other day much easier and less time consuming. Didn't have to deal with sticky tape. and the pads conform to the hoof so you end up popping them on and off. The ground here in Arizona is a bit ruff on the material, but I would still get them again. They saved my husband's and my back. Thanks

      I had high hopes for this product and bought two. The directions are easy, and they went on nicely. After one night of turnout, one had come off, and the other was twisted and worn. I would like to see the material more durable and perhaps with some elasticity and a slightly different velcro system with perhaps a more durable (silcon?) rim around the top to improve fit and stability.
