This unit is calibrated to standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. (NIST)

 

Temperature Range:

-40º to 302ºF (-40º 150ºC)

 

Temperature Accuracy:

±0.3º F (±0.2ºC) or ±0.5% of reading, whichever is greater

 

Operation

  1. Insert probe into probe jack
  2. Turn power on by depressing the “ON/OFF” button
  3. Meter will begin monitoring temperatures
  4. Display MIN/MAX readings: The TM99A can display the lowest and highest temperature readings seen by the probe since the unit was powered on. Press and release the “MIN/MAX” button. Dashes will appear, then the MIN temperature value for a few seconds, indicated by the Down Arrow, then the MAX temperature value will appear indicated by the Up Arrow, and finally the unit will return to normal temperature display.
  5. Clear MIN/MAX memory: Press and release the ‘MIN/MAX” button to display MIN/MAX values as described above. While the MIN/MAX values are showing on the display, press and release the “MIN/MAX” button again. The display will show –CLr – to indicate that the memory has been cleared. NOTE: MIN/MAX memory is also cleared when the unit is powered off.
  6. HOLD function: To “freeze” the current temperature reading on the display press and release the “HOLD” button. To return to normal temperature display, press and release the “HOLD” button again. NOTE: MIN/MAX memory continues to update while HOLD is active, but the display will only show the “HOLD” temperature.
  7. Press and release the “ON/OFF” button to power off the TM994.NOTE: If the AUTO SHUT-OFF feature is enabled the TM994 will power itself off after five minutes of non-use

 

Features:

  1. Select either ºF or ºC: with the unit off, hold down the “ON/OFF” button, then press and release the “HOLD” button to toggle between ºF and ºC. Release the “ON/OFF” button. The unit will use the selected temperature scale as the default.
  2. Enable or disable AUTO SHUT-OFF: with the unit off, hold down the “ON/OFF” button, then press and release the ‘BACKLIGHT’ button to toggle the AUTO icon. When the icon is lit AUTO SHUT-OFF is enabled. The unit will use the selected setting as the default.

 

 

 

Display Anomalies:

LO: The temperature being monitored is colder then -40ºF (-40ºC), or the probe is not detected.

HI: The temperature being monitored is hotter than 302ºF (150ºC), or the probe is damaged.

MEM: Will be lit to indicate MIN/MAX temperature values are being displayed.

HOLD: Will be lit to indicate the displayed temperature is the “hold” temperature. Hold temperature will flash.

AUTO: Will be lit to indicate the unit will turn itself off after five minutes of non-use.

BATTERY ICON: Will be lit to indicate the batteries require replacement.

 

Battery Replacement:

Unlocking Battery Compartment

  1. Place coin or flathead screw-driver into slot
  2. Turn slot counter-clockwise towards “Unlock” icon
  3. Remove Batter door-install new batteries

Locking Battery Compartment

  1. Place battery door in unit with slot facing unlock icon
  2. Place coin or flathead screw-driver into slot
  3. Turn slot clockwise towards “Lock” icon to lock door

 

CAUTION

This unit is not waterproof. Do not immerse for cleaning. If unit becomes wet inside

Because of cleaning, rain, or condensation, unstable readings may occur.
