Approved and labeled for up to 21 days control against Ostertagia ostertagi - one of the most damaging internal parasites. Delays accumulation of adult worms, subsequently reducing the number of parasite eggs shed onto pasture. No other single product controls a broader spectrum of internal and external parasites, including 36 stages of adult parasites, L4 larvae and inhibited larvae, mange mites and sucking lice. Give cattle 1 ml SQ or IM per 110 lbs. Safe for use in beef cattle, including pregnant cows, newborn calves, bulls, and dairy replacement heifers up to 20 months of age. Give swine 1 ml IM per 75 lbs.

Emergency Use Authorization

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for Dectomax/Dectomax-CA1 Injectable Solution for the prevention and treatment of New World Screwworm (NWS) infestations in dairy cattle, except for calves intended for veal production. The EUA also authorizes use for the prevention of New World Screwworm infestations in swine, horses one year of age and older, sheep excluding lactating sheep, and deer.

Food products from treated animals are considered safe for human consumption when used according to the conditions outlined in the EUA. Producers must follow all milk discard and slaughter withdrawal times before products from treated animals enter the food supply.

Milk Discard Time

  • Milk taken from treated cows or heifers during treatment and for 468 hours (19.5 days) after treatment must not be used for human consumption.

Slaughter Withdrawal Times

  • Lactating dairy cows, dry dairy cows, and replacement dairy heifers: 35 days
  • Swine: 24 days
  • Sheep: 35 days
  • Deer: 35 days

Do not use it in horses less than one year of age or in horses intended for human consumption. This product is not authorized for use in lactating sheep. A withdrawal period has not been established for pre-ruminating calves. Treated calves and calves born to treated cows must not be processed for veal.
