The Rescue! Big Bag Fly Trap holds up to 40,000 flies for easier management of areas with heavy fly concentrations. Designed to lure in the fly species which are most common around animals, barnyards, stables, and kennels. Easy to use. Complete with attractant, just add water and hang. No need to touch bait or flies. Completely disposable.

For best results, use bottled or soft water. Hard water or heavy chlorine could inhibit effectiveness.

    • The Rescue! Big Bag Fly Trap contains a fast-acting fly attractant that starts working as soon as you add water. Food and feed additives are combined with other dried ingredients to make the Rescue! attractant. Lured by the scent, flies enter through the yellow top cap and drown in the water. Lures and kills many species, including house flies, false stable flies, blow flies, blue and green bottle flies, flesh flies, face flies, and many others.

      Most horse owners need at least three different types of traps.

        A. Use odor traps (the stinky ones you add water to) for house flies at the perimeter of pens, but NEVER use them in the barn, since the odor traps attract flies.

        B. Use sticky traps in the barn to catch house flies and many other flying insects.

      We had been using the smaller bag of this product and it would last about 3 weeks before having to change. The big bag hold more flies and only needs to be changed about every 5 weeks.

      This product works the best to catch flies of any that I have tried (and I've tried a lot). It was nice to be able to get a large number of bags at a reduced price because I use a lot of them because even with good manure management my horses and chickens attract a lot of flies. I had purchased these in a store so I knew how well they worked when I ordered the large batch or I probably wouldn't have gotten that many. Very convenient! The only con is that they are disposable rather than reusable and I want to protect the environment but flies have been horrid this year because of a warm winter and hot summer.

      The fly bags really work! Hang in a out of the way area and watch them work. In a rainy area i could see value in hanging them under a covered area so the bags don't fill up with rain. In dry California I top the bags with water once in awhile.At the end of the fly season I let the fly filled bags dry out and then throw away dry.

      This stuff is really potent and flies love the stinky smell. Make sure it's away from your barn, the smell lingers quite far. The bags have a lot of activity inside of them!

      These fly trap bags work great. Just hang and when full take down and put out in trash. I have 23 acres and 5 horses and hang 3 at a time around the farm. Wouldn't even consider going a summer without them!

      This is the second summer I used these fly traps. I have tried other fly traps in the past and was disappointed. This one really works. In less than a week the bag was at least half full of flies. It is both amazing and disgusting, but I figure if I catch 40,000 flies in every trap year after year, the fly population will go down. My horses don't stomp nearly as much as they used to.

      We hang these in our cattle barn and change them out every week. The smell is horrid but what else would you expect a zillion dead flies to smell like? It really does an amazing job at catching and holding them. The war on flies is never ending when you have cattle but at least we're making a dent in the barn. The multipack from Valley Vet is the best deal I've found. I've ordered from VV for several years... fast shipping and great prices.

      I purchased the fly bags around 1 month ago & they do exactly what they are suppose to-catch flies. I hung them around in my cattle pens & along with a fly pour-on for my cattle, they finally are getting relief from those nasty flies.

      We finally figured out why we went from hundreds of flys to thousands.....the flys stopped drowning in the bag by day 5 and then they used the bad to just breed in, and lay their eggs in and around. Each bag (yes, all 10 of them) because the HUGEST breeding pond for THOUSAND of fly's. I don't know what to say.....we did this for well over a month and did not figure out this problem, because we kept just thinking it was attracting the outrageous amounts of fly's....but it wasn't....it was breeding them by the tens of thousands. Once we cut these bags down, and got rid of them, we lost 90% of our fly problem....and now are back to square one. The bags attract the fly's...they go in to the smell, the first layer of fly's drown...the next layer just use the dead flies as islands and eat and breed on them.....all inside the bad, all on the outside area becomes larva breeding paradise with a stagnant water source....YUCK....

      I have tried the other big name brand, but this price point was the best...and to my pleasant surprise the smell of these are much much better....almost tolerable and that says a lot for a fly bag! It is weird, and my only negative is of the box 2 or so don't seem to be doing the trick. For some reason these couple fly bags are "loosers" and the flys don't go to them....while the other bags are FULL and working hard. Can't explain it....but still happy. Oh...much easier to fill these bags than others....that is helpful..

      Why did we switch to fly traps?  We used to use fly predators until we realized beneficial insects were disappearing as well as the flys.  Then the song birds started leaving too.  Enter the hanging fly traps; the fly population diminished and the song birds started returning a few months later.  Sure, there is a smell if you are standing next to the trap.  But, a few feet away - what smell?  It is also interesting to watch the birds catching flys at the fly traps!
