The microchip for pets is the size of a grain of rice and comes preloaded in a sterile applicator for injection under the loose skin, between the shoulder blades. The process takes only a few seconds. Each microchip contains a unique 15-digit ID number, and can never be removed or become unreadable. After registration, your pet’s HomeAgain microchip ID number will be permanently registered in the HomeAgain database, along with your contact information. If your pet gets lost and is taken to an animal shelter or veterinarian, they will scan the microchip with a microchip reader/scanner to read the unique microchip ID number. HomeAgain uses this information to contact you and reunite you with your pet. HomeAgain Pet Recovery Service has reunited over 2 million lost pets with their families! Your pet gets lifetime registration in the HomeAgain National Pet Recovery Database, and you can update your contact information at any time, free of charge.
