AE-Poxine Avian Encephalomyelitis Fowl Pox Vaccine

by Zoetis Animal Health

AE-Poxine Avian Encephalomyelitis Fowl Pox Vaccine is for the prevention of avian encephalomyelitis and fowl pox. Administered to healthy pullets between the ages of 4 to 8 weeks, before the start of egg production. Live vaccine requires mixing. To administer prepared vaccine, hold individual bird and spread wing with the underside facing upwards. Dip the vaccinator tool into the vaccine. Take care that the channels of the needles are immersed. Stick the vaccine-laden needles through the membrane, or web, of the wing, avoiding blood vessels, bones, and wing muscles. Attempt to use all of the vaccine from 1 vial within 1 hour after rehydrating. The usual take consists of some swelling at the site of the puncture as early as the fourth day following vaccination. The swelling may increase during the next 5 days, and a scab may form at the site. If given to laying flocks, this live-virus vaccine could cause a significant or even serious drop in egg production - often lasting 10-14 days. Eggs for hatching should not be taken from the flock until 4 weeks have passed following vaccination. Do not vaccinate within 21 days before slaughter. Includes double needle wing web applicator.
