I rescued a horse with severe white line disease. After we got the infection in his feet under control, his feet were still very soft. I have been using Keratex on him for about eight weeks now, and at his most recent trimming/reset, the farrier was amazed at the difference in the hardness of the hoof. We have not had any problems with loose or lost shoes. I am very pleased with this product. Is this testimonial helpful?

Would never have believed this product could work so well. Even my farrier was in awe of how well it works. I heard about it word of mouth from a lady at a barn that had several horses with soft hooves who used this product and had good results. I was desperate to help my horse if I could. After the initial frequent applications the first 2 weeks I now only apply once a week or once very two weeks depending on ground conditions. The results are nothing short of AMAZING. I have an appendix QH with thin-walled front hooves and one club foot. By early August, she's usually throwing shoes, or at least losing nails 4 weeks after shoeing. We had her on a 5 week shoeing schedule, and that was the limit. Last August we had to glue a shoe on because her hooves were in such poor condition, there was no way to use nails. Over a three year period, I've tried numerous topical treatments (including Keratex hoof gel) and hoof supplements with biotin. None of these made any significant improvement. Keratex hoof hardener is the only thing that works, and it is UNBELIEVABLE! Her hooves are in great condition, and I'm writing this at the end of September. Started using it in May. We had a dry summer, and her feet look as good as they ever have in mid-winter. Shoes and nails are tight after 5 weeks. We can easily make a 6 week shoeing cycle now. Keratex hoof hardener is a very thin liquid and a little bit goes a long way. One bottle has lasted from May through September and there's still some left. I applied it every day for the first week as directed, then have been applying twice a week as maintenance. Considering that we can do standard shoeing (no glue or other special methods) and extend the shoeing cycle, this stuff more than pays for itself. I apply it to all four hooves (barefoot in back) and a bottle will last 6 months per horse. That's less than $7 per month for a $40 bottle. Speaking of barefoot in back, I've trail ridden her over some fairly rocky terrain, and even her hind feet look great. I do apply Keratex hoof hardener to the hoof wall and sole as directed. I can't say enough good things about this product ... it just plain works. Is this testimonial helpful?

I use this to keep my horses' soles hard during the wet summers here. For years I thought we couldn't do barefoot well in south FL - not true, we just need a little help. Keratex does that! My gelding does distance competitions & we train during the wet summer months - sometimes the trails go for miles under water - his feet hold up! Is this testimonial helpful?

I heard about this product from a video of a farrier conference in England where they have wet conditions a great deal. After watching the videe, I ordered this product and the gel to use on my TB in Ft. Lauderdale FL. I have seen a material improvement in his hooves since using this product..... now that it is drier - I will also use the hoof gel..... Highly recommended! Is this testimonial helpful?

I have a horse that has consistently had abscesses that prevent me from either riding or having to make sure he has pads on. I tried many things but Keratex seems to have actually made the only improvement. I had my vet look at Skippy's feet tonight during a routine check up and he felt the product had really made his soles stronger. The shoer comes next week and the summer of riding will really tell the story but I am hopeful that this easy to use product will be the answer to my soft sole problems! Is this testimonial helpful?

I started to use this product about a year ago right before the disgustingly long rainy season during the summer to make sure that my horse's shoes didn't come off any more than normal. Since my horse has a long history of throwing shoes, I wanted to see if anything could hold them on for a full six weeks. I got keratex and the results are just amazing!!! He kept his shoes on for a full six weeks and his hooves are in top condition and didn't dry out at all! I wouldn't go through the summer without Keratex. Is this testimonial helpful?
