My TB gelding had gotten a lot of tick bites in a sensitive area, up at his inner thigh, butt cheeks and outer sheath. After the ticks were removed, he had a lot of sore bumps.
I tried several things from my first aid box - another ointment dripped too much, and didn't stay on long enough to heal anything. I liked this ointment the best. It has the consistency of petroleum jelly so sticks and smears nicely. It softened the skin and within three days I saw noticeable improvement.
However, cautionary note - it's gel will pick up dirt easily too. Is this testimonial helpful?

I recommend this to everyone & people who try it are really pleased. Helps wounds heal without scars, infection or white spots. Kind of greasy, but really works well. One caution - the tea tree oil can make the skin sensitive to light and cause sunburns on pale horses. Is this testimonial helpful?

In addition to treating scrapes, etc. I've found this ointment most useful as a repellant against gnats & biting flies. I rub some on my horse's belly, between his hind legs and around his sheath and he has noticably fewer bites. Is this testimonial helpful?
