Love these hackamore, I have used it on my appaloosa mare running games and my gelding who is overly sensitive and unconfortable with but pressure. Would recommend every barn have one of these.

Great Hackamore!
Posted By: Sam Sweetland (Joshua Tree, CA) Aug 9, 2009

I absolutely love this hackamore! It is great to use over jumps, light dressage, and hacking! It is soft on the horses skin, so it won't rub the hair off! And it has enough bite to it for tight turns, and emergency stopping! My horse goes off this with a nice steady rain and has dropped his head carriage, and even goes behind the vertical with this bit! Which is extremely awkward, because he usually has a high head set and dosn't go vertical without pressure!

hackamore
Posted By: txcrittermom (WILLIS, TX) Feb 25, 2009

When I recently bought my new mare, I was told she had not been trained to a bit, but was trained to a hackamore. I had never had experience with a hackamore, but this one was recommended by a couple of friends. The short shank is better for trail riding as it won't get caught in any brush. My mare is very responsive with it and my own learning curve was very short. I do caution to make sure the hackamore is fitted correctly over the bridge of the horse's nose so as not to cut off their air and to make sure the curb chain is no less than 2 finger perpendicular under the horse's chin. A tight curb chain on a hackamore causes extreme pain for the horse when pulling back for a stop & will cause the horse to come up & over - both horse & rider can get severely injured. Double check the fit on top of the horse's nose as well as the curb chain!!

Awesome Hackamore
Posted By: ArchDandy (Fresno, CA) Feb 10, 2009

This hackamore has a bit of bite to it, good for riders with easy/light hands, and horses who like to have thier head left alone like mine. She travels with a lower, more comfortable headset and flexes at the poll without me asking for it. Wish I could get a different color to match my bridle, but Im very happy with this product!

Great Hackmore
Posted By: PasoMama (ROSWELL, GA) Apr 13, 2008

I recently bought this for my paso fino. He hates a regular bit and is totally and completely distracted in it. I had been riding him in a rope halter but needed a little more whoa. I bought this hackamore because it was fairly light but had enough control. My horse loves it and so do I. A great product. The padded nose keeps him comfortable too.
