Through the Blankets for Bales program, your purchase of winter blankets for horses helps provide bales of hay to horse rescues and aftercare organizations.

Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation was one of 102 Blankets for Bales recipients in 2023. “With the drought in Oklahoma last year, hay was out of sight. Our budget for hay doubled, and in some cases almost tripled,” says Nelda Kettles of Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation. “To have a program to help with purchasing hay was a godsend. It’s a great program, and rescues everywhere appreciate the help. There is so much need out there; any kind of help we can get is immensely appreciated.”

Three ways to Boost Blankets for Bales Program Success
- Time your winter horse blanket purchase to coincide with eligible program dates (Oct. 2 – Nov. 15, 2023 and from Dec. 5, 2023 – Jan. 31, 2024).
- Encourage your barn buddies to also purchase these eligible WeatherBeeta blankets to help support this worthy cause!
- Inform your favorite equine rescue or aftercare organization about the Blankets for Bales program, so they can enter! Grant applications will be made available at A Home for Every Horse.
