Improves enteric health for visibly healthier calves. All natural product contains digested Cryptosporidium parvum egg derived proteins. In research trials, oocyst shedding and diarrhea were significantly reduced in treated calves after exposure to Crypto. Recommended dosage is 2 ml orally in both the morning and evening milk replacer feedings from birth to day 7 of life (each calf will receive a total of 28 ml). After this initial period, BoviCare does not require re-administration.

Enteric health is critical to the well-being of the neonatal calf. A major cause of poor enteric health is an organism known as Crypto existing in a calf's intestinal tract. Cryptosporidium parvum infects calves at 2-6 days of age and frequently re-infects at 8-12 days of age. Infected calves frequently exhibit diarrhea and shed oocysts. Oocysts survive in the environment and pose a perpetual contamination problem.

In research trials, BoviCare was administered to calves on days 1-7 of life. It was dosed at 2 ml per calf in both AM and PM milk replacer feedings. Calves were then challenged with Cryptosporidium parvum at day 10 of life. Calves were observed for 14 days post challenge. Oocyst shedding was reduced by >99%. Duration and severity of diarrhea was significantly reduced. At 24 days of age, of the control group, 3 calves died and the remaining 19 calves gained a total of 17 lbs., while the 22 treated calves had no death loss and gained a total of 67 lbs. after exposure to Crypto.
