Fly repellent for horses

Equi-Spot Spot-On Fly Control for Horses kills and repels houseflies, stable flies, face flies, horn flies, eye gnats and ticks on horses. Also aids in the control of horse flies, deer flies, mosquitoes and black flies on horses. Waterproof and sweatproof! Each package contains 3 x 10 ml tubes. Apply 5 ml along back line, 1 ml to top of forehead and 1 ml to the back of each leg. Do not re-apply for 14 days. Not for use on foals less than 12 weeks old. Contains 45% permethrin.

      I applied the test spot and my mare went crazy trying to itch that spot. Not sure what horses this would work on.

      I have been using equispot on my horses for many years (more than 5). This time of year they are still stamping around in the barn a bit because the flies are just BAD, but all in all I'm very happy. No ticks, their ears aren't all chewed up by the gnats, and we get very few bot eggs. Day to day fly repellant applications are a thing of the past.

      I purchased this product last month. I am disappointed the product did not perform as advertised. The repellent lasted 1 day, not 14 as stated.

      I have had several Welsh ponies over the years with sweet itch - they rubbed their manes, tails and bellies RAW before Equi Spot. I recommend it to everyone and honestly don't know what my horses would look like or feel like without it! Great product!

      I have two horses in the same pasture. I used this product on one horse. Like the other lady it just spilled out. Got way too much on her face. The next day the treated horse had as many if not more flies on her face than the horse I had not treated. What a waste of money.

      Make SURE you test this product before actually putting it all over your horse. My horse has never been allergic to anything so I didn't even think to test it. He started freaking out trying to get it off. I put him in his stall and immediately he went to go rub his butt on the wall, then he lifted his back leg up to his neck to try to scratch it. This may be a wonderful product to other horses but just make sure you test it first!

      I finally found a product that works to repel ticks! I live in Missouri and ticks are a big problem, I tried equi-spot and it works great. Unfortunately I didnt see any improvement on repelling flies, but i still give it a thumbs up. Thanks Farnam!

      This product works great and is much more convenient than spray on fly control. I was concerned about a reaction from the horses but there was none. It does last about two weeks.

      We purchased this product with the hope that it would help. Reviews were positive but we were still skeptical. I am pleased to say it is amazing. This is week 3 and the horses graze with tails hanging straight down. We have 1 gelding that would run to the barn daily trying to avoid the flys. Our location is SE Oklahoma and we do recommend this product.

      Works the best of any long term product I have tried and reduces the need for fly spraying daily....now if it would just work to keep big horseflies off! Maybe it does keep some away - we just have too many!

      I use for tick control. But some of my horses are sensitive to it, so don't use it on them.

      Having previously used this product, I purchased it again. To my horror, the applicator had been changed. Instead of being able to portion out the Equi-spot, it literally poured out of he little spout, making it virtually impossible to correctly apply. The manufacturer needs to go back to the previous version!!

      I have been purchasing Equi-Spot for the last six years, especially when it is on sale because I buy about 25 to 30 packs. This product works, yes it really works for tick control! Two horses on my farm tested positive for Lyme Disease and were treated with limited success. My entire herd of five have been getting Equi-Spot applied every two weeks as a Lyme preventative as soon as the temperature warms up enough for tick activity. My veterinarian does a blood titer on the equine that are negative for exposure 1-2 times per year to make sure that they remain negative. Equi-Spot helps me to keep them that way. I love it!
