The Mega CMPK Bolus provides a supplemental source of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium for cattle, sheep, swine, and horses. CMPK Bolus disintegrates within five minutes of consumption to deliver quick, therapeutic levels of minerals to the bloodstream. Provides 4.4 gm calcium, 3.7 gm phosphorus, 1.5 gm potassium, 1.4 gm magnesium, and 50,000 IU vitamin D3 per bolus. Mega CMPK Bolus may be given orally, crushed and sprinkled on the daily feed ration, or given as a drench by mixing with water or milk. Specially formulated mineral supplement for use in dairy cows as an aid in the prevention of milk fever. Helps maintain normal calcium levels together with magnesium and cobalt at a balanced pH. Oral calcium & B-vitamin gel with buffer, for hypocalcemic fresh cows. Elevates serum calcium levels. Helps maintain normal calcium levels during freshening and post partum periods. Give one tube at first sign of freshening, then another tube 6-12 hrs. post calving. Repeat every 12 hrs. as needed. Requires 3-tab dosing gun for administration.
Non-irritating oral calcium supplement for freshening dairy cattle. Helps maintain normal calcium levels during the critical pre-calving and immediate post-calving period. Unlike its competitors which use the strong acidic salt calcium chloride, Safe-Cal use calciumpropionate and calcium oxide. Cows given high doses of calcium chloride exhibited metabolic acidosis by 3 hours post treatment. A USDA study
shows that calcium propionate is a viable source of calcium for cows. The same USDA study also maintains that in order for a calcium gel to be effective, it should have at least 75 grams of calcium. Safe-Cal contains 100 grams per tube, while most calcium chloride gels have only45-55 grams of available calcium. Requires 3-tab dosing gun for administration.
