Gastrobim (Omeprazole) Oral Paste for Horses

Gastrobim (omeprazole) Oral Paste is designed for treatment and prevention of recurrence of equine gastric ulcers in horses and foals 4 weeks of age and older. This oral paste contains omeprazole, a proven active ingredient that works by inhibiting stomach acid production to support healing and protect the stomach lining. It is commonly used in horses showing signs of gastric discomfort, poor appetite, or performance changes linked to ulcers.

For treatment, Gastrobim is administered orally once daily for four weeks at a recommended dose of 1.8 mg/lb of body weight (4 mg/kg). Each syringe is calibrated to deliver accurate dosing for horses up to 1,250 lbs, making it easy to use across a range of horse sizes. Consistent daily use during this period helps promote healing of existing ulcers and supports overall digestive health.

To help prevent recurrence, continue use for at least an additional four weeks at a maintenance dose of 0.9 mg/lb (2 mg/kg). This step is important for horses in training, under stress, or prone to ulcers. Always follow label directions and work with your veterinarian to determine the best treatment plan for your horse.
